My role at Hewlett Auto Group is the Brand Umbrella holder. Beneath the umbrella is several business entities including Don Hewlett Chevrolet Buick, Hewlett Volkswagen, Xpress Oil Change Plus, Hewlett Collision Center, and Hewlett Parts Center.
It seems that everywhere I’ve worked the challenge is the same: Creating unified brand standards for each business unit and then assuring compliance for the organizational visual brand vocabulary, under the large brand umbrella. And at the same time helping stakeholders understand the “less is more” essence of good design. Hewlett Auto Group is no exception.
After going through the process of updating and unifying the brand standards, I was tasked with applying everything to social media, digital signage, print, and point-of-purchase displays.

GRAPHIC DESIGNER | CROWN COLLEGE, 2017-2019
Crown College is a non-profit private college located in St. Bonifacius, MN. Crown is home to 530 on-campus students, 620 online students, and 150 employees. I served as the Lead Graphic Designer on a Marketing Team of six. Within that small marketing team, I assumed different roles to accomplish the wide range of requests from internal and external projects. My daily tasks include: working with vendors on price quotes and sending over files to be printed, mentoring students who are interested in graphic design, contacting co-workers and businesses on marketing projects, meeting with co-workers on their project requests, expense reports, and other marketing-related activities.
The primary function of my job was to make sure Crown was being showcased to its fullest potential and that all materials are properly designed according to brand standards.
I arrived at Crown just after they had dismantled their internal marketing department. Much of the work of rebuilding their brand for student recruitment, alumni relations, and student retention fell to me. I worked diligently to create a renewed sense of brand awareness and management for the college.
GRAPHIC PRODUCTION ARTIST INTERN | J&B GROUP, 2016
J&B Group has three locations in St. Michael, Minneapolis, and Pipestone, MN. I worked at the corporate office in St. Michael, MN as a part of the Marketing Team. J&B Group is a vast company which owns WW Johnson, Ellison Meats, No Name, and Tender Selections™, among other brands. On a daily basis I worked on updating the J&B and No Name Brand to follow brand standards with the implementation of their newest logo and package design, updating the WordPress No Name site, make posters for events happening internally, as well as Sell Sheets and Flyers for buyers in the grocery industry. The Marketing Team works collaboratively with one other and also different areas throughout the whole company to showcase the values at J&B as well as the quality of product they produce.
DESIGN INTERN | TIMBER BAY, 2016
Timber Bay, a ministry of Youth Investment Foundation, of which I was a part of, is an organization that mentors teens. They are an over 2 million dollar non-profit that has locations throughout Minnesota, as well as locations in Iowa and Wisconsin. I had the opportunity to give back to the organization that helped me succeed and gain a college education. During my internship I made WordPress websites, integrated social media to help reach more teens and other print branding projects.
